CropperCapture[11]

We had talked about staying a second night in Seaside since the beach was so beautiful, but in the morning opted to push on south for Newport.  After an amazing  walk around Canon Beach and Haystack Rock we drove south to Tillamook and popped into the Tillamook Cheese factory, where we did three loops around the cheese tasting station.

We drove south as far as Newport where we checked into a hotel only to find the room quite in disrepair.  After a quick tour around town we decided to check out of the Newport Hotel and drive back up to Depoe Bay just north of Newport.  It was a bit of a risk, as we were tired and hungry and were not sure if we would find lodging and a restaurant at this time of the evening.  Fortunately we found a  very nice hotel with a 24hr hot tub. The only restaurant in town open in the evening was a Chinese restaurant called Wing Wa Restaurant and Lounge, but it did the trick.

In the morning we popped into the Bonepile BBQ Restaurant for a delicious BBQ lunch.  We then drove back down to Newport to visit the Rogue Brewery for a brewery tour and tasting.  This was one of the largest craft breweries I have ever visited and the tour was well worth the visit.

That evening we lodged north in Lincoln City.  We had now reached the halfway point in our journey and it was time to turn the car back north bound for Portland.
