Mat and I returned to the Deer Group Islands with our friend Shawn in March 2018. We followed a similar path, launching from Bamfield and crossing the channel to the islands. Being early in the season there was a lot of debris on the beach including many unique shells and massive urchins. We had an outstanding few days exploring the chain of islands. Mat caught several fish that we shared together one evening. Shawn and I enjoyed exploring the sea caves in the area.
