Never been a huge fan of Coldplay but I can certainly appereciate their music.  After missing the big U2 concert at the Cape Town stadium earlier this year, I did not want to miss a big concert in this great venue.  We got general admission standing tickets which gave us lots of room to move around on the soccer pitch.  Plus all of the amenities were available at ground level (eg. bar and washrooms).

Local band The Parlotones opened the show and played a few cool tracks.  During the intermission to Coldplay they were playing some loungey music, then just out of nowhere they dropped 99 Problems by Jay Z which was so strange! (and perhaps inappropriate?)  Anyhow this really shook the crowd up and then Coldplay came on and delivered.
