Still riding high on the adrenaline following the experience of the Golden Hinde Traverse, I was lucky to find a spot on the Augerpoint Traverse with a great gang of Island Mountain Ramblers in late August. I was still hopeful to get that swim in a tarn and there was also a chance of far fewer bugs on this trip, being so late in the season. Both prospects proved to be true and the 30+km journey was a delight.
We took four days to complete the traverse. Starting at Raven Lodge we travelled up and around Mount Albert Edward, through to Ruth Masters Lake, and down to Buttle Lake.
