Had a visit to Vancouver in June for the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) Conference held in Coal Harbour, downtown Vancouver. This was a wonderful conference with wide representation from educational developers, faculty and students from across Canada.
It was a busy time in Vancouver as the FIFA Women’s World Cup was also being hosted in the city. I attended the fan fest to watch the United States versus Nigeria match one evening before the conference began. Energy levels were not quite the same as I experienced in the Cape Town fan fest during the 2010 Men’s World Cup. Still it was great to be a part of the festivities.
