Jessica and I decided to do the Tongariro Alpine Crossing which involves a 20k hike across volcanic and dramatic landscapes. The trek is regarded as among the top ten single-day treks in the world. We had a great day of weather ahead so took the plunge and committed to the early bus pick up to start the trek.
We are very thankful to the folks at Whakapapa Holiday Park for lending Jessica a pair of poles to assist with the trek. I know this brought her a lot of confidence to take on this hike.
