For my birthday Kim took me on the city bus tour which goes around the city, up the mountain, to the beach and then to the V&A Waterfront. The bus has headphones at each seat which gives some history about the sights along the way available in numerous languages. I actually enjoyed listening to the historical information and learned quite a bit about the city.
At the harbour we hopped on a boat for a short cruise around the bay – also part of the city tour package for a small addition. Remarkably in the past three years I have lived in Cape Town I always end up on a boat for my birthday! Last year I went for a sunset cruise and the year before we went to Robben Island.
We ate well this day with a lovely breakfast at the cafe near our place, lunch at the waterfront and dinner at a new neighbourhood favourite Bacini’s. Kim always spoils me on my birthday!
On the bus
City centre
Control unit for the audio history
On Table Mountain
Long island iced teas in Camp’s Bay – whoops we missed our bus!
On the beach
Sea Point Promenade
The Coca Cola man now crashes thousands of photos daily
V&A Waterfront
Large living in Cape Town
From the boat
We were greeted by Dolphins and Seals in the bay
Brainstorm: A horror movie set on a container ship – could be good
