Spent Sunday in the Cape winelands with my friend Joey who was passing through town. We started with a drive through Franschhoek to a winery which was closed. We then head towards Stellenbosch stopping at Boschendal, one of the oldest wine estates in South Africa, enjoying some cheese and wine. Next stop was Tokara, a winery I always seem to visit when touring the winelands with an awesome range of wines and the added plus of olive and olive oil tastings. It was suggested we also try Delaire, just across the road from Tokara. The Delaire estate is quiet amazing, with wonderful views and an amazing venue. We then travelled through Stellenbosch and made a stop at Stellenzicht as both Joe and I have tried and enjoyed wines from this farm. While the estate and tasting room are not as sensational as some of the other wineries, they still have a lovely range of wines and we enjoyed the tasting.
Ended the day with a late lunch at 96 Winery Rd always a great closer! We were both quite hungry so pictures didn’t get taken as we went right for the food.
