On day four Christian and I worked through the morning heat wave. As the cool breeze started coming in off the ocean in the afternoon we set out to have a look at the train station and buy some fresh seafood to cook. As we drove into the city it began to rain, this was the only rain I experienced while visiting.
The train station was a grand old building covered floor to ceiling with beautiful tile. The building looks like it has seen better days yet still seemed to be in remarkably good shape structurally.
It cleared up again in the afternoon and we enjoyed our late lunch watching the soccer match next door and people passing by below.
Could stay a while and just watch the ships go by!
Children playing
Doing the washing
Check out the African Obama t-shirt
Proof that we got some work done, or at least looked busy
Me trying to buy a Coke with no luck – you must bring en empty bottle or drink the Coke there and leave the bottle!
Delicious Red Snapper with salad, rice and a 2M beer
None of this fish was wasted
Went to this pub one night, it was called ‘The Container’
Kids responsible for setting up the nets
They made a great team!
Another soccer match, this time with uniforms and formalities
Kids off to the beach for a swim
Buying Red Snapper at the fish market
The train station was quite an impressive structure
