After exploring Queenstown central park and a quick lunch in town, we made tracks to Wanaka to fuel up. Traveling through the countryside here was pleasant and there are several beautiful lakes to explore.
We landed at a lovely DOC spot called Kidds Bush camp on the northern shore of Lake Hawea. As we arrived a herd of cattle were being corralled by a group of campers. They must have slipped inside the campsite gate and were causing quite a nuisance. The campsite is surrounded by farms and we could hear the cows and sheep crooning will into the night.
