We had such a fantastic first night we decided that we would stay a second night on Lake Pukaki. We spent the day exploring the lake and seeking out an even better campsite, settling near the south end of the lake with pleasant beach access. A sweltering day, a cold lake, and a few brisk swims later we were tucked in just after sunset.
This was the first night I was woken to a strange sound in the van in the middle of the night. It seemed that we might have a stowaway.
